Ian Worboys, CEO and Co-Founder, European Green Logistics Space

Bio:

Ian Worboys is Chief Executive Officer for EGLS sro (European Green Logistic Space), a company which he founded in 2024. He is based in Prague where he has lived for 15 years. He has worked in the logistic real estate sector for 44 years and in his time has been a broker and a developer. He has developed or overseen over 6m sm of logistic space with a value in excess of €6bn . Ian has worked at several companies in his career which started in 1981 as commercial broker at Strutt and Parker, before moving to Gazeley Properties as a developer in 1997. After spells at Parkridge and a few years at Panattoni Europe, where he established the Western European team. In 2009, Ian was asked to join P3 Logistic Parks as its CEO. At that time the company had recently been purchased by Arcapita, a Bahrain private bank. P3 was a central European company valued at €265m with 23 staff. Over the next 11 years Ian led the company’s growth into 12 countries with 150 staff. He guided it through ownership changes from Arcapita to TPG and Ivanhoe Cambridge, who then sold to GIC for a value of €2.4bn. By the time Ian left P3 its value had risen to circa €4.2bn in value. Ian is passionate about green warehouses and was first influenced in the early 2000’s by John Duggan, the then CEO of Gazeley Properties, who Ian considers as a pioneer of green warehouses in the UK. John Duggan also influenced Ian’s desire to grow and run high performing teams, something that he has been able to introduce into all the companies where he works.
