Apaleo launched the first Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server for property management.

Apaleo has become the first property management platform in the hospitality industry to launch a Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, enabling AI agents to perform complex, cross-system hotel operations without weeks of custom coding. The breakthrough provides AI agents with a standardized way to read hotel data and perform actions across the hospitality ecosystem, addressing the long-standing challenge of making agentic AI more practical in the industry’s complex and fragmented technology landscape.

The MCP Server functions as a universal language that enables agents to connect to platforms, systems, tools, and data sources consistently, replacing the previous requirement for custom development for every vendor and use case. Previously, an AI agent changing a hotel booking would need separate implementations to access availability from the property management system, check loyalty status in the CRM, confirm with housekeeping, and create payment links, but MCP replaces this complexity with a single, standardized interface.

Apaleo’s MCP Server spans the entire Apaleo open platform and its APIs, reducing technical overhead and enabling faster automation and easier scalability for users. The launch builds on the company’s Agent Hub, the world’s first AI agent marketplace for hospitality launched earlier this year, as part of broader initiatives to co-create AI agents with hoteliers and developers to solve operational challenges in days rather than weeks.

“The MCP is the great AI democratiser in hotel tech. It shifts us from coding to describing intent, enabling anyone, from GMs to front desk teams, to design adaptive and fluid guest journeys without waiting on developer backlogs,” said Mike Rawson, CIO of citizenM, which operates 37 properties globally using Apaleo’s platform. “For citizenM, which runs on Apaleo as our infrastructure layer, it unlocks a new level of agility and control in how we shape the guest experience.”

Stephan Wiesener, Co-Founder and CTO of Apaleo, emphasized the practical applications of the technology: “With Apaleo’s MCP Server, AI agents can carry out real tasks across hotel systems, from checking availability and modifying bookings, without the need for custom integrations. This moves agentic AI out of the lab and into live hotel environments, where it can drive real value every day.” The company is inviting hospitality businesses to join the MCP Alpha Group through the Apaleo Community to co-create the next generation of hospitality technology.
