Govind Mundra is the Head of Development for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (WHR), based in Dubai, UAE. In this role, he leads the strategic expansion of WHR’s hotel portfolio across MEA, driving growth and development initiatives in key emerging markets. With over 23 years of experience in hospitality development, real estate, and construction, Govind has worked extensively across South West Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. He began his career in 2002 as a Junior Engineer with a design consultancy in Assam, India, before joining Ambuja Realty Development Limited (now Ambuja Neotia Group) in 2003. Over his seven-year tenure, he advanced to Assistant General Manager – Design & Development, contributing significantly to real estate and hospitality projects in Eastern India. After completing his Master’s degree in 2011, Govind joined Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as Senior Manager – Development (Indian Ocean). He later moved to Johannesburg, South Africa, to serve as General Manager – Development (Sub-Saharan Africa) for Taj Hotels. In 2016, he rejoined WHR as Director of Development for the Eurasia region, playing a key role in the company’s expansion over the next eight years. In December 2023, he took on his current position, leading development efforts for WHR in the MEA region. Govind holds a Master’s degree in Hospitality Administration from École Hôtelière de Lausanne, a Certificate in Hotel Real Estate & Asset Management from Cornell University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University India.
