Smart Spaces has announced its expansion into the Middle East with the opening of a new business entity in DIFC, Dubai. Smart Spaces is a cloud-based IoT operating system for smart buildings, operating across more than 100 million square feet of predominantly Grade-A office space in 30 countries worldwide. Smart Spaces announced the move at PropTech Connect Middle East, hosted in partnership with the Dubai Land Department in February 2026.
Expansion aligns as Dubai experiences a surge in commercial real estate investment and development. Dubai has long been synonymous with luxury residential and hospitality developments. With increased demand from international businesses that, like Smart Spaces, are registering in the region, the opportunity in the premium office environment is unmatched.
Smart Spaces is meeting this opportunity by deploying its best-in-class software platform across high-quality office assets in the region, bringing enhanced access to amenities, space booking, mobile passes, and streamlined workplace experiences. The company is investing in local operations with “boots on the ground” in DIFC, hiring top regional talent and building a network of developers, occupiers, and smart building technologies to integrate into the region.
“We believe this will be one of the biggest years for commercial real estate investment in Dubai, and Smart Spaces is excited to be part of that transformation,” said Dan Drogman, CEO & Co-Founder of Smart Spaces. “Our technology powers some of the world’s best office buildings, and we’re thrilled to bring that same capability to the Middle East, helping owners and occupiers deliver truly exceptional workplace experiences.”
Smart Spaces’ SaaS platform operates in any AWS region globally. Space Agent Max, announced at PropTech Connect Europe 2025, is Smart Spaces’ latest innovation, an LLM-powered assistant that enables users to control the Smart Spaces platform through voice or text while unlocking powerful data insights from across the workplace ecosystem.
Smart Spaces announced registration in the DIFC, marking the beginning of their Middle East expansion. The commercial real estate opportunity in the region is unmatched. The partnership with PropTech Connect will help Smart Spaces find new integration tech partners as well as developers and occupiers who will deploy Smart Spaces technology.
