Joe Rigby will oversee CBRE consultancy’s Manchester, Liverpool, and Leeds offices, stepping into the role previously held by John Ogden, who is now head of UK regional markets. Rigby’s promotion comes 18 months after he became CBRE’s Northern head of office agency and 10 years after he joined the firm. In his new role, Rigby will support Ogden, who has taken on a national remit after 15 years as head of the North.
“Joe is regarded as a market leader by clients, as well as the wider industry across the North, so he is well-placed to step up and drive the growth of our Northern business going forward,” Ogden said. “Simultaneously, it’s more important than ever that we are delivering a cohesive and integrated offering to our clients, across all our service lines and sectors. I look forward to continuing to work with Joe, as well as with all the teams across CBRE’s wider regional business, to deliver best-in-class, holistic solutions for our clients.
In recent months Rigby has advised on occupiers on several record-breaking office deals in Manchester. The arrival of Pinsent Masons at Relentless’ St Michael’s development last year set a new headline rent for the city of £43/sq ft. This was trumped last month when S&P Global signed a deal worth £44/sq ft. Meanwhile, under Ogden’s leadership, CBRE’s Manchester investment team has dominated over the last few years, advising on some of the city’s biggest transactions.
Last month, Colin Thomasson was appointed as head of UK investment properties.
