Estonian smart building automation provider Bisly has raised €4.3 million in funding to accelerate its expansion across Central and Western Europe. The round was led by 2C Ventures, with participation from existing investors including Aconterra, Pinorena, founders of Foxway, and Estonia’s state-backed SmartCap fund, whose Green Fund investment is supported by the EU’s NextGenerationEU recovery plan.
Bisly addresses a critical market need, as buildings account for approximately 40% of the European Union’s energy consumption, with roughly 75% of those buildings being energy inefficient. The company’s AI-powered automation system makes smart building technology more accessible and affordable, with its cloud-based platform reducing costs by up to 50% compared to legacy systems while delivering up to 40% energy savings compared to unmanaged buildings.
“The climate crisis hasn’t paused – 2024 was yet again, the hottest year on record,” said Ants Vill, CEO and co-founder of Bisly. “At a time of geopolitical and economic turbulence, we need practical solutions that work and have been deployed successfully in the field. Our technology helps solve the biggest source of energy consumption: buildings. Saving energy here doesn’t just help the environment, it frees up grid capacity for the next wave of energy demand, from AI data centers to mass-scale EV deployment.”
The company has demonstrated strong traction, already leading the Estonian market with a majority of new residential apartments sold in 2024 featuring Bisly automation components. The platform combines hardware and software solutions that manage energy use and indoor environments through patented digital twin technology, creating virtual building models that use real-time data to continuously optimize performance. Key partners include Crown Estate, Bonava, Pro Kapital, and Endover, among others.
Martin Koppel, partner at 2C Ventures, emphasized the investment’s significance: “We’re proud to support Bisly in scaling their technology across Europe and beyond. Buildings account for nearly 40% of global CO₂ emissions and yet much of the sector remains underserved by digital innovation. Scalable, smart energy management is critical to reducing this footprint and Bisly’s platform brings that much needed intelligence and efficiency to the built environment.”
The funding will support go-to-market efforts in Germany, the UK, and Poland, where the company plans to open a new office in Warsaw. With existing operations in Tallinn, London, and Berlin, Bisly is expanding its engineering team to launch a wireless product line for retrofitting existing buildings. The company tripled its core revenue in 2024 and remains on track for similar growth in 2025, demonstrating the strong demand for practical building automation solutions that deliver both environmental and economic benefits.
