Spain-based accommodation provider Gaiarooms has raised €10 million to expand its network of technology-powered establishments. Funding was led by Bonsai Venture Capital with support from angel investor Javier Llorente.

Founded in 2018, Gaiarooms offers hotels, hostels and apartments with automated check-in and 24-hour customer service while also providing flexible management options for independent hoteliers with capabilities for revenue management and marketing.

“Our model allows independent hoteliers to join a digitized chain, optimizing management and maximizing the profitability of their establishments,” Enrique Domínguez, co-founder and CEO of Gaiarooms, said in a press release.

Currently, Gaiarooms operates 900 accommodations units in eight cites in Spain, with plans to reach 4,000 rooms by 2028. The company is now eyeing “strategic locations for growth” in other major Spanish cities, namely Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Porto and San Sebastián and also international growth.

Gaiarooms also cited its focus on sustainability by incorporating “eco-friendly materials and consumption control systems that optimize energy efficiency.”
