Matthew Neal, Director, Alternative Real Estate Advisors

Matthew has over 14 years’ experience within the real estate sector and joined AREA in 2022. Matthew has obtained extensive ‘Bed’ sector experience, most recently at Get Living Plc as Head of Build to Rent and prior to this, at iQ Student Accommodation as Investment Manager. Whilst at IQ, Matthew sourced and executed on and off market PBSA transactions in excess of £1 billion in the UK. He also identified and executed many accretive capital expenditure initiatives, resulting in significant increases in the estates value. He was a key member of the team in ensuring iQ consistently and successfully, refurbished over 2,000 beds PA, with an average annual spend of over £25 million. Matthew is a qualified chartered surveyor (MRICS) and holds a BA (Hons) degree in Real Estate Management from Oxford Brookes University.
