Mauricio Weiss is Founding Partner at Zacua Ventures, a global VC fund focused in the built environment. His role at the fund goes from investing in the most promising startups in the areas of sustainability and productivity, to actively supporting the startups in their growth journey. Mauricio leverages his deep connections and network in the industry, based on the fund LP structure, composed by leading companies in the industry, globally. He sits on the board of numerous companies from Europe, US and Latin America. Prior to launching Zacua Ventures, Mauricio was CEMEX Ventures first employee, supporting the structuring of the CVC unit back in 2016, and leading the investment team for five years, where he led more than 20 startup investments and had 3 successful exits. His background is both in construction and Venture Capital, working for a large general contractor for five years and for Rocket Internet for two years. Mauricio holds an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, where he’s based.
