Trustup Raises €5M to Simplify Home Renovations across Europe

Trustup, the scale-up that connects individuals with certified construction-renovation craftsmen and helps the latter to optimize their administrative management and the monitoring of their construction sites, has raised €5 million to accelerate its growth and double in size by 2025. This significant amount was raised from Belgian and American investors, including Rise PropTech Fund, Brick & Mortar Ventures and historical investors Noshaq and InvestSud, in addition to several renowned private investors.

Finding a contractor to renovate your home, a solar panel installer or an electrician to bring an aging installation up to standard is often a real challenge. To make it easier to find craftsmen, Trustup connects individuals with more than 20,000 professionals in Belgium and France.

In order to offer trusted professionals, Trustup selects companies and independent candidates in advance, checking several criteria, including their financial health, and monitors the satisfaction of their customers who can also rate and comment on the interventions. In addition, its administrative management and site monitoring software makes life easier for construction professionals. More than 4,500 of them use it today. Free for individuals, the digital platform records more than 160,000 visitors per month.

A major turning point in Trustup’s growth

Launched in 2017 by Sébastien Remacle, CEO, Trustup now employs 55 people, mainly based in Liège and Leuven, to currently cover the whole of Belgium and part of France. A team that will be significantly strengthened to cover the French market and the growth ambitions of the scale-up. To give itself the means to achieve its ambitions, Trustup is closing a financing round of €5 million with Belgian and American investors.

Led by the investment fund Rise PropTech Fund specializing in technologies for the construction and real estate sector, the funding round is completed by Brick & Mortar Ventures, an American fund specializing in start-ups providing a solution in architecture, engineering or construction, as well as several renowned private investors, gathered within Trustup Angels, an ad hoc vehicle where we find: Tim Vandecasteele (co-founder of Silverfin) and Cédric Pierrard (founder of Efficy). Finally, the financing round brings together the historical investors, Noshaq and InvestSud.

“Having the support of Belgian and American investors specializing in tech is a real recognition for us. This new fundraising will allow us to accelerate our growth. We are convinced that our digital solution can really make a difference in the context of the climate transition: the need for renovation to improve the energy performance of homes is enormous and trusted professionals are hard to find. And the situation is the same in our neighboring countries! Furthermore, with the obligation for companies to go digital from 2026, the evolution and potential for large-scale deployment of our management software represent a major opportunity to support this transition.” says Sébastien Remacle, founder and CEO of Trustup.

International structuring and sustained growth

The company, which now has 55 employees, has maintained sustained growth for several years. It had already raised 2 million euros in capital in previous rounds of funding and received, in 2023, the award for the fastest growing technology company in Wallonia during Deloitte’s Fast 50.

With this fundraising, the scale-up plans to recruit around fifty additional employees in Belgium to implement its international growth ambitions. With the priority of strengthening itself first in Flanders, where it opened an office in Leuven in 2024, and in France. These ambitious objectives aim to attract more qualified professionals to its platform and to meet the ever-increasing demand for property renovations. At the same time, Trustup is committed to supporting these professionals in their digital transition thanks to software designed to adapt perfectly to their needs and the realities on the ground.

“Trustup, which is experiencing real growth, is a mature solution led by an experienced team that provides an innovative solution combined with a unique customer experience that allows it to stand out from its competitors on the Belgian and international market. This is a strategic investment for the Rise PropTech Fund in the market segment of smaller companies in the construction sector.” says Jérôme Constant, Partner at Rise PropTech Fund.

“Our fund invests primarily in the United States in innovative solutions for the construction sector, among others. We have identified Trustup as a potential leader in its field. By participating in this fundraising, we are making our second investment in Europe.” adds Darren Bechtel, Founder and Managing Director of Brick & Mortar Ventures Management LLC.
