With a PhD in BIM and Computer Science, and MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience, Sonia brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to technology leadership. She combines deep technical understanding with insights from human cognition and behaviour to drive change – with a proven track record of leading complex digital transformations in the rail & construction sector. As Innovo’s CIO, she oversees technology strategy, data & analytics, AI and cyber security – driving growth, operational excellence, and a culture of continuous improvement. Before joining Innovo, Sonia served as CIO at HS2, the UK’s largest infrastructure programme, where she shaped the strategic direction and management of HS2’s Information & Technology state. Prior to that, she led HS2’s Digital Engineering function, defining the vision for HS2’s Digital Twin and spearheading its implementation to increase efficiency across all program phases. Through digital disruption, standardisation, and leveraging technology her aim is to simplify the process of decision making through building a data-driven culture. She is committed to coaching the next generation of technology leaders and actively supports diversity and inclusion initiatives.
