PLACE, a real estate and financial services technology company, has announced its acquisition of Maxwell, a provider of AI-powered mortgage technology and services. The addition of Maxwell will accelerate the growth of the PLACE ecosystem into the mortgage and institutional side of real estate.
Ben Kinney, PLACE CEO and Co-Founder, said, “Maxwell is fundamentally aligned with the PLACE vision of a simpler, more connected real estate transaction. The mortgage experience is a critical point to build trust with consumers. We’re thrilled to bring Maxwell’s best-in-class solutions into the PLACE ecosystem and power the hundreds of institutions that make homeownership possible.”
This acquisition positions Maxwell and PLACE to meet that need together, creating a platform for lenders, agents, and homeowners at every stage of the journey. It also gives Maxwell the resources and reach to accelerate its product roadmap while tapping into PLACE’s real estate ecosystem. It positions both companies to deliver an integrated homeownership experience, from search to close.
John Paasonen, CEO and Co-Founder of Maxwell, said, “By doubling down on deeper connectivity between the real estate transaction and the mortgage transaction, under one platform, PLACE and Maxwell will enable lenders of all sizes to unlock a powerful synergy that makes consumers the center of the homeownership journey, no matter what brokerage or lender they choose.”
