The UK property market is still built around documents, despite being powered by data. Every home sale generates a huge amount of information. Yet buyers, sellers, surveyors, lenders, conveyancers and estate agents often spend time requesting, checking and re-entering the same information multiple times.
Cotality has joined Open Property Data Association to advance open property data. The role in co-creation and testing of the Smart Property Data Trust Framework is vital to enable trusted sharing of structured information between authorised participants, reducing duplication, improving transparency and helping transactions move more efficiently.
Mark Blackwell, Chief Operating Officer, Cotality, “Through platforms such as Lender Hub, Survey Hub, IntelliVal and Net Zero Hub, we help organisations connect workflows, manage trusted property information and provide the benefits of property data. OPDA’s vision closely aligns with our own: a future where property information is collected once, trusted, shared securely and reused throughout the property lifecycle. As a major provider of property data, analytics and digital connectivity, we’re excited to help shape the standards and trust frameworks that will make open property data a reality.”
Maria Harris, chair of the OPDA, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Cotality to the OPDA. As one of the sector’s most established data and analytics providers, they bring deep technical expertise and proven integration across lenders and valuation networks. Their involvement will be invaluable as we continue to build open, trusted standards to create a faster, more connected home buying and selling process.”
