Reframe Systems has announced an additional $40 million in venture-backed equity financing to scale its microfactory network across North America and deliver more homes for customers.
The financing was led by Energy Impact Partners (EIP), with co-investments from Counterpart Ventures, E12 Ventures, Global Brain Corporation, Thin Line Capital, UP.Partners and LACI Impact Fund. Reframe also had continued support from existing investors, including Eclipse, VoLo Earth Ventures, Cubit Capital, RA Capital Management (Planetary Health), MassMutual Catalyst Funds and Nor’easter Ventures.
The additional capital positions Reframe to accelerate home delivery in New England and deploy additional microfactory capacity across North America, bringing robotics-enabled homebuilding to the communities.
Unlike traditional modular builders that rely on large, centralised factories, Reframe’s microfactories can adapt production to different zoning requirements, climate conditions, and architectural styles. Software coordinates design with production, robotic systems automate repetitive fabrication tasks, and digital work instructions enable builders of all skill levels to assemble components.
Vikas Enti, CEO and co-founder of Reframe Systems, said, “Developers are demanding energy-efficient and climate-resilient homes. With our technology, we’re able to deliver infill housing, such as a triple-decker in Somerville, in 180 days and help families in Altadena rebuild wildfire-resilient bungalows in months instead of years. With our model, every home we deliver makes the next one faster and cheaper to build, because our software, robotics and network learn from each deployment. That demand is why we’re expanding, and why we’re now targeting one million homes by 2040, five years ahead of schedule.”
